The new church in Lupeni was built in 1850, when there was still the old parish with a circular porch and an open atrium, located on Pap Street. That land was changed by the church to the current one, but the faithful did not want to build a new parish. Thus, the episcopal tutor Mihály János had to turn to the royal judge to realize his intention.

Finally, today's parish was built in 1888. In fact, Mihály János managed to build many of the area's churches and 113 schools. The parish near the church has a porch and the cellar is vaulted.
