Lupeni, Tamási Áron memorial house

The most visited statue in Lupeni is the one made by Szervátiusz Jenő and his son Tibor between 1971 and 1972 in memory of Tamási Áron. The writer Áron Tamási (1897-1966) was born in Lupeni and was also buried there, between two oaks in the church garden.

His literary activity culminates in the trilogy of Abel, whose famous expression is: "We are in the world to be at home somewhere." On the monument appears the shepherd boy from the trilogy, but also characters from several of his short stories.

Monument 8 tons, 3 m high and 1 m wide, is located next to the tomb of Tamasi Aron. The sculptors, Jenő and her son Tibor, died in 1983 and 2018 respectively. Eighty Szervátiusz statues can be seen in the courtyard of the church parish Sf. Mihail from Cluj-napoca
