Vălenii Lăpușului, Wooden church

The Orthodox church of Vălenii Lăpușului was built between 1810 and 1817, above an altar stone from an old wooden church, disappeared into a fire. It is a wall church with a shingle roof until 1967 when it was covered with blackboard.

The bell tower rises from the flat roof, has a balcony over which a high helmet has been built with towers at the base and a cross with three arms and a crescent crescent. The 36-meter high tower is the third highest tower in Maramures.

Two bells were mounted in the tower. One was cast in 1854 in Cluj and the other in 1897 in Timisoara. The interior of the church is divided into narthex, nave and altar. On the ceiling of the narthex are painted icons on wood. The nave walls are placed icons with evangelists.

The iconostasis has two registers. Only the diaconal doors were preserved, the royal doors are new.
