Muhuchii cave, Pădurea Craiului Mountains

In order to reach Muhuchii Cave, the confluence of Strâmtura Brook with its left affluent, Valea Mare can be our guide. This place is at 3.3 km distance from the entrance of the gorge. From the houses situated on the confluence, we make our way to the Strâmtura Vale (to the left).

At circa 5 km from the entrance of the gorge, we reach a large area of hayfield. At circa 100 m, before the brook enters the forest, we see the brook that comes with a triungular entrance from the cave. After the low entrance, the cavern widens.

Towards right lies an arid gallery, which narrows after 30 m. The active gallery comes from the left, and in the front we can see a 10 m long horn, that communicates with the surface. We can easily reach the mouth of the horn, being above the cave.
