In Turda Nouă was built in 1204 in honor of St. Ladislaus church, which was destroyed once the city in 1285, during the Tatar invasion.

In the Papal Book of 1332-37 Turda Nouă appears as a church parish, built in Gothic style, by King Róbert Károly (1311-1340) in honor of Saint Ladislau. XV century due to Turkish danger amplification church was surrounded with defensive wall with 6 semicircular bastions and one rectangular. During restoration work in 1504 Gothic sanctuary and sacristy was replaced by a gothic style. For a time the church belonged to the Unitarians, after the population of Turda Nouă during the time of János Zsigmond, the first prince of Transylvania, passed to the Unitarian religion.

In 1601 the city's population fled to the church, but Basta's army besieged the cannon walls, massacring those inside. In 1614 principele Bethlen Gábor donates town without șovagăi population. The newcomers brought with them reformed religion. The Church still belongs to the Reformed today. In the eighteenth century the main ship was rebuilt in baroque-empir style. The organ was built in 1822 by the Brașovian Andreas Eitel.

The pulpit was made by the Mihály Schindler in Cluj in 1802. From the semi-round bases, equipped with towers, only one remained. These buildings provided protection to the inhabitants, and here was the bell house, and later it was an ideal place to keep the bacon or grain. Entrance to the courtyard was on the southern side through the rectangular gate tower, preserved intact until nowadays.

It was a gate with Hers, holes drawdown, and bridge, because the whole fortress was surrounded by moat. Between 1969-1972 took place last renovations.
