The Fortress Bud was built in turn of the centuries XI-XII on a 625 m heigh plain top what is limited on three side by an abrupt tower rock. One saddle was the only access to the 1,25 ha area.

There is also distinguishable the lines of huge banks and ducts on the sylvan area. The archeologic explotations discovered evidences from the stone, cupric, bronze and iron age. There were found terra-cotta dishes as well. The arceologists deducted that the fortress was used until about the XIII.th century. It was a post-fortress from where they reported the next post-fortress about the comming of danger by pile-burning. After certain assumptions the fortress was ruined by the tartars in 1241. After the legend it was built by king Attila's brother Buda hence its name.
