The Orthodox Church of Campia Turzii was built between 1910 and 1912 in the former village of Ghiriș-Arieș. It was erected by Greek Catholics instead of a wooden church that grew poor and moved to Calarasi. The faithful burned the bricks, transported the stone from Săndulești, and the ballast and the sand from Aries. The construction initially had a single ship and a tower in which the two bells from the old church were mounted.

One of the bells was recaptured in the First World War, and was replaced after the war. In 1948, after the ban on Greek-Catholic religion, this church became Orthodox. The building underwent exterior and interior modifications.
