The first Catholic church of the territory occupied today by the Câmpia Turzii was built at Ghieres Cristur in 1219. It resisted until 1296 but disappeared quite early, with the town. In 1679, with the help of Rhedei Ferenc, the construction of the Reformed Church was begun.

With the propagation of the reformed stream, so many believers have gone to the new religion, that only a Catholic church was needed until the nineteenth century. Their church was built in 1898. The altar painting was made in Vienna. The organ has broken and its repair has been funded by Alba Iulia school of cantors. There he is now, and has become an instrument for rehearsing the institution.
