Botanical Museum was founded by the Transylvanian Museum Association, founded in 1859. The collections were more extensive and can be visited on the ground floor inside the Botanical Institute Botanical Garden. The museum has over 6900 exhibits: plants of economic, industrial, pharmaceutical interest, extensive and valuable dendrological collection, as well as manufactures made in different parts of the country.

We can admire many botanical curiosities such as palm leaf writing papers, Namib desert rarities, or palm-seed collection of about 180 species, including the palm of Lodoicea seychellarum, which reaches 16 kg.
