The Luxemburg House

Road: E68/81, DN 14

Presumably this, recently renovated, house was formed by connecting to other houses. It got its name, Luxemburg, from the carnation and its style. The first three storeys have been built in the XVth century, while the mansard was only built in the XVIIIth century. In 2005 when the archduke of Luxemburg and his wife visited this place, the building took the name, Luxemburg house formally. The interesting thing about the visit was that both the archduke and the mayor of Sibiu spoke similar Saxon language, certifying with this that the Saxons who live here are from around Luxemburg.
