Păpușa Peak, with its height of 2508 m, ranks second in the Retezat Massif, after Peleaga Peak, and is the VIIIth in Romania. It is only 1 m shorter than the Peleaga Peak (2,509 m) with which it is connected to the Peleaga Saddle, in which Peleaga Lake nests.
