The red triangle trails start at Slatina (Nucsoara) settlement and travels on a forest road in Doamnei valley. After a 3 hours walk from where the two brooks meet we go through Cernat valley for another 18 kms until we reach Curmătura Maliţei, 1830m. Once there a path takes us across some brooklets, past a sheep-fold and to a forest road through Valea Rea valley. After abount one hour we reach the flow in of Izvorul Bândei. Another half an hour and we reach the end of the fortest road, we go past a sheep-fold, and follow a rocky path leading to the alpine meadows. We climb on the bank of Valea Rea brook, which offers an unforgettable view with its numerous waterfalls. One hour walk from the sheep-fold and we reach Valea Rea cauldron. We keep climbing towards a sheperd’s hut.On our way we reach the Salvamont shelter. We cross a rocky area whith sections of fallen rocks andwe finally reach Portiţa Viştei, 2310m
