30 minutes later we reach Curmătura Galbenei. Turning right

To Podul Giurgiului

our path travels steadily upwards to peak Galbena. 20 more minutes on the narrow ridge and we reach Scărişoara mountain. Here the three trails diverge. We continue our way on the wide, grassy peak which gets narrower as we proceed. We reach Şaua Pietrei Tăiate, 2380m and climb to Piatra Tăiată, 2395m. A rugged descend leads us to the nearby of Pe Custură peak (2302m.) After another hour we reach VârfulŢuica, 1990m, then Oticu forester’s lodge (1700m), we cross Zănoaga meadow and we still have 10 kms to reach the end of the forest road. Next we follow a path. Lake Vidraru is 2 ½-3 hours far from Toaca meadow. We turn left and descend to Vâlsanului meadow, we cross Vâlsanului pass and after another 8 kms we reach Brădet (685m).
