The slightly ascending route starts at the tourist lodge. Once we cross the stream winding roads take us to Izvorul Doamnei spring. After 45 minutes we reach the edge of the glacial valley. There is a cross at 1750m height at which point we turn left. We go past a number of waterfalls and we arrive to a place dominated by rhododendrons. We soon pass by springs and our way is made more difficult by masses of broken rocks. After having left the cross 1 ¼ hours before we reach the Sambata ridge, we pass by Cheia Bândei peak (2383m) and our path leads us by a red streak directly to the ridge road.
