The red cross trail starts at Bradet, it crosses Cheile Vâlsanului and after an 8 km walk we reach Poiana Valsanului. We continue our road by the river bank and 20.5-3 kms higher we reach the Gura Dobroneagului houses.We go past an accumulation lake, and a crossroads. At km 21 we reach some woodsmen’s houses. 7 hours away from Bradet we reach the Urdea houses. Another ½ an hour and the forest road ends. We follow the red dot trail along the river bank and meet two trails below peak Scarisoara.
We descend Scarisoara and head in the direction of peak Galbena (2412m). We descend into Curmătura Galbenei. It starts here and travels in the direction of

We head towards Piscul Rosu (2465m) and a rugged ascent takes us to Vârful Moldoveanu (2544m)
