The blue streak and red cross trails start beside the elevator station. We cross Balea stream and begin climbing. After ten minutes of walking the two trails take different courses. We turn left. After another 30 minutes of climbing through the woods we get to a look-out from where the Balea-waterfall can be seen. We reach one of the poles of the elevator which marks the glacial threshold of Balea valley. We reach the road but soon part and follow a shortcut that leads us to Lake Balea.
