Around the middle of the XVI century the village converted to the Unitarian faith. According to the stone tablet on the wall of the church the church tower was built in 1643 by Thoroczkay Zsigmond. The left side of the stone tablet bears the Thoroczkay family crest. In 1703 the village was burnt down. The villagers have rebuilt the Unitartan church as well.
