Thoroczkay György and his wife Pekri Krisztina used to be the patrons of the Catholic villagers. They invited monks to their house. The church and monastery was built in 1727 on a hill north to the village. The buildings were attached to the family's old sepulchral vault. In 1849 the church was burnt down and a new one was built in 1867. Az arch connects the cahapel to the vault in which Thorockai István, Rákóczi Ferenc's general is buried. The chapel loft bears the Thorockay and Rudnyánszky family crest.
