Gaura Chindiei II cave

This cave has been inhabited from the earliest times already. According to archeologists it can be classified as being part of Hallstatt in the period of classical and medieval age. It has the length of 18 m and its eastern walls are painted. In 1968, the archeologist Vasilie Boroneant found certain paintings in red on the walls and in the wholes, symbolizing birds, some other natural things along with objects and symbols like circles, crosses, the sign of the sun, being executed in the period of neolitic, and certain alphabetic signs in latin and ciril.

It is a true archeological pearl, merely it is hard to find. One stands with no idea in front of the ruins and the lines being painted on the walls. What can cause paople to do such things? The lack of education and civilization? What do the Swedish people have that we lack?

At Tanumshade in Sued it can be found the oldest and richest collection of such signs in Europe, from the bronze age. It is not protected, although it still exists. It is really never protected, however, nobody starts painting things on the walls. We should think about it!...
