Nușfalău, Reformed church

The current reformed church was originally a catholic church built at the end of XV century in gothic style from the parishioners' donations and with help of The Banffys. In XVII century the Catholic Church had became reformed but the building's style remained enchanged.

The gothic sanctuary with ribs and window with stone lattice was kept and the once vestry's door as well. On the colored stone arch situated in the ribs intersection we can observe The Losonczi Bánffys symbols, a griff bird, a double cross framed in sunshines and a heraldic lily.

The bottom side of the ribs from the vaults curves was cut off. Initially the nave had ribbed vaults also but these were distroyed probably during the Turkish attack in 1600. The ceiling was covered with cassettes, becaming straight. The organ, the pulpit and the furniture date since 1870. The nave is separated by the once sanctuary through an arc. In 1783 the wooden tower was changed with a new one, of 43 m, which hostes two bells.

The big bell was made in 1859 from the remains of three old bells. In 1770 the southern entrance and its porch were made on the place of the secondary chapel whose pair can be distinguished on the north side. In the church's crypt we find The Losonczi Bánffy Dénes bones.
