The orthodox church from Măeriște was built in 1898 in a wooden church's place, demolished in 1890.

In 1957 this church became narrow as well that's why it was enlarged with other 15 meters and its plan became a cross one. The iconostasis was made in 1969 by Stoica Nicula from Sibiu. The inside painting was made in 1978-1979 by painter Nicolaie Hantăr from Grumăzești Neamț, together with his sons Savin and Stelian.
