In 1556 the Borla locality's christians passed at reformed religion. The first church's bell built in 1654 was kept up until today. The present church was built in 1782-1784, it originally had belfry. The tower's construction began in 1807 and finished in 1835.

The shingle roof was changed with tile in 1862 and later one in 1993 it was replaced with iron. With the occasion of the renovation in 1894 to the church was added a little lateral nave. Its first organ was built in 1802, and the one that can be seen today in 1863.
