At Hodod are two castles, Wesselényi castle, the one known as Dégenfeld castle is newer than the one built by old man Wesselényi Ferenc and his wife Rhédey Zsuzsanna. The latter one finished, inherited by Farkas, his oldest son. He had 4 girls and two boys, József and Farkas, the 2nd one inherited the castle while for József another new one was built just when he marries with Rachel Kendeffy. On the new castle's wall are the double symbol of The Wesselényis and The Kendeffys. József's nephew, Wesselényi Teréz, marries in 1882 witth Christoph von Dégenfeld-Schönburg, a German noble. Castle became Dégenfeld and was inherited by its followers. Castle and lovely park which was surrounding was nationalized in 1946 from Maximilian Degenfeld Schönburg. Is a school.

After 60 years castle ended up in property of grof Dégenfeld Pál who renovated its roof and drained water which surrounded the building, he gave to be used for 39 years by Reformed church's diocese near Piatra Craiului.
