EMKE Palace built in 1890-91 on Count Bánffy György's ground, was built on the wishes of the Hungarian Railways, the tenant of the building. EMKE offices were on the ground floor of the market. On the frontispiece of the two-storey eclectic building with an area of 1285 sqm, the names of all the cities where EMKE had its subsidiaries were aligned. Now the eardrum from the market sees the figure in 1885, year of establishment and on the other wing figure 1891 year building completion. Because of the maintenance costs, EMKE sells the CF Maghiare building, which after World War I became CFR property.
