After circa 1 hour it reaches the Borţig brook. We cross the water and get to a huge glade. We go ahead into the South, getting to another glade. After a short ascending way we get to the top. We shall descend from here to the Poniţa saddle.
We climb to the top from the saddle, then start to descend at the Vârtop peak to the wood path, which takes us down through the Poieniţa houses, Vârtop glade and Vârtop saddle.
