The Bortig vertical cave is to be called one of the famous sights of Galbina tour.

Galbena tour

The length of it is 150 m, the depth: 54m. This hole is well-known due to its measurements: 35 m diameter, with a huge ice-barrier at the bottom (30000m3). Consequently, this is the second largest ice-cave of the country, right after the Scărişoara cave. Earlier Gyula Czárán built twice a ladder reaching the bottom of the cave, which was connected with other ice halls through different ice-tubes. Those times the cave length reached 300 m, but it had to be digged out each year, as it froze from time to time on. There is an ice-tube next to the ice-barrier leading to a larger hall.
